This is me.  I’m at my work Christmas party and really, I had a fantastic time.  I organised the party and so much work and effort went into it.  And it was a hit - yay!!  As soon as I realised that, I let loose and hit the vino’s - hard.  And I look like I’m enjoying myself, yeah? I always do - until I see the photos.  This photo made me think “Before Photo” for a weight loss campaign.  I have lots of those!  I just never get to the after shot :(
But I’m going to be 30 this year.  30!  Wow.  I am excited about turning 30, unlike some of my friends.  My 20s were ok - there were some exciting moments, like travelling to Europe and Bali, moving out of home, moving to Melbourne etc., but there wasn’t a lot of purpose - just a lot of moving along.  And (although it didn’t really seem to matter at the time) there wasn’t any real love.
So bring on my 30s!  I always remind myself and my friends that Sex and The City started when the girls were in their 30s and look what they got up to!!!  Don’t get me wrong, I’m no Carrie Bradshaw and Melbourne is no NYC but it’s just a little reminder that there’s still plenty of time to get things sorted and get things done.
So here I go!  I’m not gonna declare an official list of things I must do in the next 6-7 months, but there are some general things I will be working on.  I do not want to be Fat and 30.  I’ve had other motivators before and events that I thought should be motivators but this one is really important to me - if I want my 30s to stand out and define me, I better start them looking and feeling fab.  I’m going to work on setting up and building my celebrancy business, as well as becoming excellent at all facets of my current job.  I’m going to work on being more tolerant and patient with things I can’t control (ie people I struggle to work with) and I will track all this here. I have one other goal and that is to be creative (pretty much) everyday and I will document this over at http://nicbecreative.tumblr.com/
Here I go, fingers crossed I can also find a bit of committment in me by the time I’m 30! xxx
